Pray4NewArk
Bringing the Good News of Jesus to Every Neighborhood
The Pray4NewArk prayer movement is a coalition of Dominion Fellowship Ministries, Resident Ministers Alliance (ReMA), The Caring Network Volunteer Services, and transformational ministries throughout the Newark area. The goal is to apply prayer and prayer evangelism by blessing, connecting and engaging with the people, meeting felt needs, and bringing the presence and power of the good news of the gospel of the kingdom of God to everyone who lives, works/studies, or worships in Newark, NJ.
The city was dealing with issues relating to public safety and crime when Pray4NewArk first started in 2007. Our first step was to “get the city prayed for” and identify the “felt needs”. We identified abandonment and fatherlessness as some of the spiritual root causes of much of the needs and came in the “opposite spirit” to address these. Since that time, we have witnessed the crime rate in our city decline significantly, and the overall spiritual atmosphere has become more positive. We praise the Lord that the message of Pray4NewArk has spread throughout the United States and beyond. In fact, leaders from more than 1200 cities in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia have contacted us asking how they might start Adopt-a-Street projects in their own communities.
Pray4NewArk is dedicated to equipping and empowering prayer intercessors to effectively engage in spiritual warfare through pointed intentional prayer and prayer evangelism throughout our city and its surrounding areas. Our organization's history is rooted in a deep commitment to intercessory prayer and making a lasting impact on the city through prayer initiatives and gatherings.
As you adopt the city of Newark, and people adopt streets, schools, businesses and apartment buildings, the spirit of "abandonment", will be replaced by the spirit of adoption and the spirit of "orphanhood", will be replaced by the spirit of sonship/daughterhood.
Vision: That every person who lives, works, worships or studies in Newark will be prayed for by name with positive blessing prayers in Jesus' name (Prayer Evangelism) and they will know who is praying for them.
Objectives: To help to provide prayer support for a sustainable model of prayer and evangelism for the city of Newark. Establish a “threefold cord” for each street where someone inside the city, outside the city and on the street are all praying regularly

Pray4NewArk collaborates with a network of churches, community organizations, and ministry partners who share our vision for transforming Newark through the power of prayer. Together, we work towards building a unified front of prayer intercessors dedicated to bringing about spiritual and societal renewal in the city.
